Rail Baltica is the largest Baltic transport infrastructure project that will create the North-East economic corridor. It will be an electrified, high speed railway line with modern infrastructure for passenger and freight services, ensuring environmentally friendly and fast transportation from Tallinn to the Lithuanian-Polish border. Rail Baltica will connect the Baltic States with Central and Western Europe. The project is largely co-financed by the European Union.

RB Rail AS is looking for a new enthusiastic colleague to join our growing team in a position of HYDROLOGY ENGINEER .

JOB PURPOSE

Hydrology Engineer – will be responsible for revision of submitted design solution according to the existing requirements of Design Guidelines.  Hydrology Engineer shall ensure that Rail Baltica project implements the most reasonable and cost-effective technical solutions from lifecycle perspective and shall ensure that Rail Baltica project is fully aligned with EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and applicable harmonised EN product specifications. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in water supply systems, hydrology or hydrogeology fields
  • Previous experience to review design solutions, 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience related with infrastructure construction and design solutions
  • Understanding of local and international construction and design standards
  • Experience in project management, budget preparation, evaluation and forecasting of resources, planning and management, as well as organization of cooperation with clients and partners
  • Good technical English and at least one Baltic language (Latvian, Estonian or Lithuanian)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analysis and design review regarding submitted hydrology, melioration and drainage design solutions related to Rail Baltica railway project
  • Review assigned work and/or check design volume estimates and specifications provided by Design Consultants
  • In time of tender process Engineer will be responsible of developing respective answers on the questions and requests for information
  • Take part in construction process, for example: technical audits and on spot visits of construction site
  • In accordance with the employer’s request and within the scope of the work responsibilities, to participate in the preparation of technical specifications and participate at the RB Rail AS public procurement committees, therefore employee shall have no obstacles to become a Latvian state official 
  • To participate in the tender evaluation process 
  • Oversee the quality of deliverables (materials’ specifications). To develop point type check principles for deliveries and construction works of related structures: Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program
  • Close cooperation with the national Implementing Bodies and other stakeholders

SALARY

Starting from 2900 EUR (before taxes).

OFFICE LOCATION

Any RB RAIL AS Branch office as per preferences (Riga, Vilnius or Tallinn). 

Rail Baltica ambition is to plan, monitor and control the delivery the new best-in-class, innovative, environmentally friendly railway infrastructure with cost competitive technical solution in the region to improve the long-term well-being of the society of the Baltic States and European community. Rail Baltica plans, develops and manages all technical aspects of entire Rail Baltica project to achieve cross-border interoperability. RB Rail AS is the three Baltic States’ joint venture, it was established in October 2014 and is registered in Latvia. Main business of the joint venture is the design, construction and marketing of the railway. RB Rail acts as a main coordinator of the project.
