We are looking for a new enthusiastic colleague to join our growing team in the position of PLANNING ENGINEER.

Job summary

The primary responsibility of the Planning Engineer is to provide the Project Control team with the expertise to deliver the project in the most effective manner and provide the Project Control team with solid scheduling KPIs status. At the Preparation phase the Planning Engineer shall support the Project Management team in developing an acceptable delivery strategy to execute a project in an effective manner through the review of project scope and objectives. At the delivery phase the Planning Engineer shall 1) Review or define activities, durations, and relationship logic to implement the project delivery strategy, and 2) Monitor, update, and communicate the schedule to reflect current status and the impact of project changes and variations. The Planning Engineer shall have civil engineering and construction background and linear infrastructure projects background, agile, fast learner, ability to work with strict deadlines and willing to learn and develop a career in the Planning, Scheduling and Project Control field.

We will entrust You to

  • Assist with the development and implementation of acceptable planning and scheduling techniques and methods.
  • Assist with the development, review and analysis of project schedules, CPM software implementation, time impact and delay analysis, and review of periodic schedule updates.
  • Monitor and update accurate schedule progress toward achieving the desired project completion date and inform the project management team of changes to schedule outcome.
  • Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts or dashboards, and schedule analysis and status on KPIs performance.
  • Maintain records of scope changes, trends, and variances that potentially affect schedule performance.
  • Participate in Project Reviews, Planning and Performance meetings.
  • Assure the credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
  • Assist with the preparation and/or of project time and cost claims.
  • Assist with the development of phasing presentations, and other visual techniques to communicate project phasing, constraints and opportunities to all stakeholders.
  • Direct support and interface with Cost Estimating team with productivities and quantities assessment, and any other required task.
  • Liaise and work together with Technical, BIM and Financial teams when required.
  • At the completion of the project, assist in developing and recording the project’s historical schedule information and “lessons learned”, for use ongoing or future projects.
  • Engage in external Project Planning and Scheduling interest groups, seminars etc., to promote RB Rail AS Planning and Control capability and harvest best practice.
  • To provide full support for RB Rail AS Project Managers and Implementing Bodies during design and construction period.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To succeed, you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Road Engineering or Railway Engineering is required.
  • 1+ years’ experience in Planning, Scheduling, Control or Cost Estimation in EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) of Linear Infrastructure Projects (railways, roads, gas pipelines, etc.).
  • Basic understanding and competency with CPM scheduling software (Oracle Primavera P6, Ms Project or Safran Planner).
  • An interest in Linear Planning (Time Location tools), 4D Construction Planning, BIM and Project Control.
  • Exhibits a strong awareness of the level of interaction required with the project team function to support the successful delivery of projects.
  • The ability to reconcile time and cost information.
  • Preferable but not mandatory, knowledge and practical application FIDIC form of contract.
  • Proficient in the MS Office 365.
  • Solid verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and technical mindset.
  • Fluent in English; good command of technical terms.
  • High ethical standards, honesty, and impeccable reputation.
  • Resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to organise the work of a team to meet agreed deadlines; ability to work independently or as part of a team, to agreed deadlines.

Office location

Full time located in Riga, Vilnius or Tallinn.
